The ADB is a multilateral development bank, based in Manila, Philippines, with 67 member countries whose mission is to increase economic growth and reduce poverty throughout Asia and the Pacific region.  As a member of the Board of Directors of the ADB, Mr. Curry formulates and communicates U.S. policies and positions on a wide range of Bank projects, including major energy and transportation infrastructure investments, and financial services and education sector reform programs.   As an ADB board member, he is responsible for reviewing and approving all policy documents as well as some $10 billion per year in loan, equity and technical assistance operations.  He also serves on the Bank’s budget and pension committees, and has previously served on the audit committee.

Prior to his work at the ADB, Mr. Curry served as the Executive Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Treasury from 2004-2005.  In that position he was responsible for coordinating the Department-wide review and approval of policy initiatives, regulations, Congressional testimony, memoranda, reports, briefing materials, and correspondence, for the Secretary and Deputy Secretary.  He also assisted in managing the day-to-day operations of the Department and the Secretary’s office

In 2005 Mr. Curry was designated by the President as the Acting Assistant Secretary for Management at the Department.  In that role he led an office of 400 people responsible for the formulation and execution of an $11 billion budget, procurement, human resources, building operations, and emergency preparedness, for the Department.

From 2001 until 2003 Mr. Curry served as the Special Assistant to the Executive Secretary before being promoted to Deputy Executive Secretary.  During his service at the Treasury Department, Mr. Curry has received several awards, including the Secretary’s Honor Award, and the Distinguished Service Award, the Department’s third highest recognition.

In 2000 Mr. Curry worked at the Republican National Committee as a research analyst where he conducted public policy and legislative research.  From 1997-2000 he worked for Senator Thurmond on the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary where he worked on a range of policy issues including anti-trust hearings, immigration, prisons reform, and judicial nominations.

Mr. Curry is a native of Clearwater, Florida.  He received a B.S. in Marketing from Clemson University in 1993, and a M.A. in History from Clemson University in 1996.  In 2000 he received a J.D. from the Columbus School of Law at The Catholic University of America.
