Army Corps of Engineers finishes repairs on area levees

SEATTLE – The Seattle District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, finished restoring flood protection at area levees this week. 

Repair work started on the levees this summer.  Work to repair the levees included the investigation of damages, estimates of repair costs, engineering design of repair work, and construction.

In 2008, the Corps repaired 15 levees in Idaho, Montana and Washington.  Levee repairs began last year and will continue into 2009.
The levees repaired include:
