SEATTLE--The Army Corps of Engineers will hold an information meeting about the engineering studies done at Half Moon Bay and about the independent technical review of those studies at the Port of Grays Harbor Commission chambers Wednesday, Sept. 14, from 6-8 p.m. The engineering studies were conducted as part of the Corps' long term management strategy study for operation and maintenance of the Grays Harbor federal navigation project.
At the meeting, members of the Corps study team and members of an independent technical review committee will share information about the engineering studies that were conducted to better understand existing conditions in the Half Moon Bay area.
The meeting will include a description by the Seattle District study team of the engineering studies and findings. A member of the ITR committee will also discuss the team, their review process and findings. The Corps team will answer any questions related to the ITR and the study in general.
The purpose of the Long Term Management Strategy study is to assess the threat to the federal navigation project of a breach between the south jetty and adjacent land mass and to recommend the most appropriate long-term strategy to maintain and protect the federal navigation project. The study focuses on the south jetty, Half Moon Bay, South Beach, Point Chehalis, and the navigation channel.
The Port of Grays Harbor, Port Commission Chambers are located at 111 S. Wooding Street, Aberdeen, Wash.
