The Department of Ministry & Pastoral Care consists of chaplains and chaplain assistants who are committed to supporting the spiritual well-being of Walter Reed Military and civilian personnel through worship services, religious education, pastoral care, counseling and religious activities. If you would like to request chaplain support for any of the following areas, please e-mail the DMPC Deputy Chaplain.

Training. Programs, retreats and training conferences to promote spiritual, moral, and ethical fitness. We provide classes on topics such as:

Pastoral Counseling. Pastoral Care and counseling during times of crisis, grief, stress, or anxiety. An on-call Chaplain available to 24/7 to assist you. To contact a chaplain during duty hours, go to the "Contact a Chaplain" link on the home page. To contact a chaplain after duty hours or on weekends or holidays, call the AOD desk at (202) 782-7309 and they will page the on-call chaplain.

Religious Support. Providing emergency ministrations, rites, ordinances, sacraments, hospital visitations, prayers, and other spiritual and religious support needs. An on-call Chaplain is available to 24/7 to assist you.

Prayer at Ceremonies. Providing invocations, benedictions, blessings, and prayers at military ceremonies, social events, and other activities related to Walter Reed.
