The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) has won the 2006 Presidential Award for Management Excellence. ACF’s Center for Grants Management was honored along with five other recipients at an awards ceremony at the Corcoran Gallery of Art on November 14. This is the first year HHS has received such an honor.

Administered through the President’s Quality Award Program, the Presidential Award for Management Excellence is the highest award given to executive branch agencies for management excellence. ACF’s Grants Center for Excellence, a group of 12 federal employees and their contracting team, saved millions of dollars by consolidating over 50 disparate grants systems. They also expanded the system to serve seven agencies and more than 80 grant programs.
