State Afterschool
Profiles
This section includes State Profiles developed by the Afterschool Investments project in our effort to provide a snapshot of the state of "afterschool," as well as an opportunity to compare afterschool activities across the country. The State Profiles provide key data and descriptions of the afterschool landscape, which includes a range of out-of-school time programming that can occur before and after school, on weekends, and during summer months. They are designed to serve as a resource for policymakers, administrators, and providers.
The profiles can be viewed in two ways:
- Search by State: Click on any state in the map or in the listing below to access a State Profile.
- Search by Type of Initiative: Each statewide initiative highlighted in the
profiles has been categorized by a number of characteristics. For example,
users can view programs that take place in a particular setting, target a
selected audience, highlight a method of collaboration, or employ a specific
financing or policy strategy. Search the Afterschool Investments database of statewide initiatives by clicking here.
A national summary profile is also available (HTML | PDF).
To submit new or updated statewide afterschool or school-age care
initiatives to be considered for the database, email detailed information to afterschool@financeproject.org.
