Firewood concession rights up for bid at four Pend Oreille areas

            SEATTLE – Firewood concession licenses for four recreation areas along Lake Pend Oreille in Bonner County, Idaho are available for bid, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District.

Albeni Cove, Riley Creek, Priest River and Spring Point recreation areas are available for license to sell firewood. Awarded bidder will need to provide firewood for all four recreation sites.

The winning bidder will do either of the following:

A)        Use their own vehicle and firewood to provide campers with the opportunity to purchase firewood at the recreation area designated above for a minimum of one hour a day per day after 2 p.m., or

B)        Periodically place firewood in a container and collect money from a cash box. A container and / or a cash box will be provided by the project. Customers will purchase firewood on an ‘honor system’ basis.

Interested parties can inspect the areas Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. by contacting Linda Lamb at (208) 437-3133, extension 226.

Bid forms are available at the Albeni Falls Dam Project Office, Idaho, or Real Estate Division, Seattle District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, 4735 E. Marginal Way South, Seattle. Ask for Invitation (form) No. DACW67-9-08-25.

Sealed bids must be submitted no later than 2 p.m. April 10, 2008 to:
