Partnering to Fight HIV/AIDS
The CDC Global AIDS Program (GAP) Lesotho office opened in 2007. Since then, CDC
has been supporting the Lesotho's Ministry of health, working in collaboration
with civil society and other key partners, to support an integrated continuum of
services which includes prevention, counseling and testing, as well as care and
treatment services.
In 2003, US President George W. Bush announced the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and CDC GAP Lesotho became a part of this unified US Government effort to turn the tide against the epidemic.
