Corps to meet with community on Bull Creek Ecosystem Restoration project
LOS ANGELES – Representatives from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be on hand Thursday evening to inform community members about their proposed schedule for work around Lake Balboa. The meeting will be held at: Sepulveda Garden Center 16633 Magnolia Blvd. Encino, Ca. 91406 The meeting begins at 6 p.m. and doors open at 5:30 p.m.
The work is part of the Bull Creek Ecosystem Restoration Project, which broke ground February 20. The project is designed to restore native riparian and upland habitat to the area in the Sepulveda Dam Flood Control basin that has become severely degraded. The meeting will go over a basic timeline for the project and will include an overview of the project and information session for anyone interested in the timeline for access around Lake Balboa. Members of the public are welcome to attend. There will be a comment session during the meeting. At that time, individuals or groups who have submitted a Speaker Card may have time to voice their concerns about the project to Corps representatives. In the interest of time, groups are asked to choose a representative to serve as a spokesperson. For more information, contact Daniel J. Calderón in the Public Affairs Office at 213-452-3922. |
