National Learn & Serve Challenge

On Behalf of Learn and Serve America:

We’re just 20 days away from the first-ever National Learn & Serve Challenge—and it’s not too late for you to participate.

What is the National Learn & Serve Challenge? The National Learn & Serve Challenge is a concentrated week of special events and activities designed to spotlight service-learning successes around the country; show support for Learn and Serve America, and inspire other schools and communities to launch their own service-learning initiatives.

By the year 2010, our goals are to:

  • Engage 5 million college students in service; and
  • Ensure 50 percent of America’s K-12 schools incorporate service-learning into their curricula.

Accept the Challenge! Join your peers from around the country in this weeklong series of publicity events and community outreach activities designed to raise awareness of service-learning and our 2010 goals.

Encourage your grantees, partners and colleagues to visit the Learn & Serve Challenge website (www.learnandservechallenge.org) to access ideas and tip sheets for how they can recognize the Learn & Serve Challenge in their own school, organization or community.

As a program or state commission, express your support for service-learning and Learn & Serve America by adding your organization’s name to the growing list of participating partners. Email nslp@aed.org to join today!
