Student Career Experience Program
(SCEP) (Cooperative Education Program)
The Student Career
Experience Program (SCEP) offers curriculum related employment to
students in certain academic disciplines. This program provides the
student an opportunity to gain experience in his or her chosen
career while attending school. Students in Bachelor, Masters, and
Doctorate degree programs, as well as students in associate degree
programs, certificate programs, and high school programs may qualify
for SCEP. As a SCEP employee, you will be given an opportunity to
perform a variety of assignments under the direction of seasoned
professionals that will readily develop your knowledge and skills in
your chosen field.
The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC)
has SCEP agreements with a number of regional educational
institutions. This program is beneficial to both the Corps and the
student by providing managers a ready source of employees, and a
future source of potential permanent employees, while the student
learns to be proficient in his or her field of study.
ERDC is
able to retain a high percentage of students under this program. The
students find the experiences and knowledge they develop here, and
the type of work they perform, is challenging and
rewarding. |
