EL members recognized by NWOC

1 Feb 08 -- Vicksburg, MS -- Ms. Alfreda Gibson and Ms. Dwilette McFarland, ERDC-EL, received recognitions from the Career Communications Group at the National Women of Color Award (NWOC) awards at a ceremony conducted Nov. 3, 2007, in Atlanta, Ga.  Gibson received the 2007 College Level Promotion of Education Award and McFarland received the 2007 Research Leadership Award. 

Thirty-seven women from across the United States were bestowed awards in the various categories.   Maj. Gen. Ronald L. Johnson, Deputy Chief of Engineers and Deputy Commanding General, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers presented Gibson and McFarland with their awards.  EL director Dr. Elizabeth Fleming attended the ceremony.
