As the New Year begins, you're ready to follow a healthier, safer path. Inspire your friends and family to do the same—send one of the free electronic greetings we call Health-e-Cards.

CDC has more than 100 eCards that feature health and safety messages and link to specific information, healthy tips, and safety guidelines.

Below are some of the eCards you can send to strengthen your own resolutions and to support friends and family in their efforts.

January 1st
Start the new year with a healthy living calendar. Send an eCard which links to downloadable, one-page (8½“ x 11”) calendars that promote taking simple steps every day for a safe and healthy life.
Sleep is a Necessity, Not a Luxury
Get a good night's sleep. If you know someone who has trouble falling or staying asleep, send an eCard that includes sleep hygiene tips that can be used to improve sleep.
Mammograms save lives
Schedule a mammogram. If your friend or family member is 40 or older, encourage her to get a mammogram every year. It's the best way to find breast cancer early.
Be Active!
Be active! Support a former couch potato with electronic encouragement to be active.
Joing the millions who are now living a wonderful smoke-free life!
Enjoy a smoke-free life. Encourage a friend to quit smoking with an eCard that links to tips on quitting.
Protect yourself and your family from the flu. Get you flu vaccination.
It's not too late to vaccinate. Encourage friends to protect themselves and their families from flu.
1 in 4 Americans have and STD. Almost half of all STDs occur in 15-24 year olds.
Get tested. One in 4 Americans has a sexually transmitted disease (STD). Send an eCard that links to basic facts about STDs.
Hug!
Send a hug. It’s sure to make the recipient feel better and the virtual hug eCard links to tips for a safe and healthy life.

This is just a small sample of the eCards available on the CDC Health-e-Card page. Other eCard topics include diabetes management, sports safety, antibiotic use, preventive driving, and healthy parenting. Visit the Health-e-Card site to send a greeting to help loved ones keep their resolutions!

Information about Health-e-Cards

To send a CDC Health-e-Card, you must provide your name and email address and the recipient's name and email address. Please note that after the link is sent, the names and email addresses are discarded.

CDC does not disclose, give, sell, or transfer any information about CDC Web site visitors unless required for law enforcement or otherwise required by law. Please see the CDC Privacy Policy for more information.

When a Web visitor sends a CDC Health-e-Card, the greeting is electronically created and a link is emailed to the recipient. This link will always begin with the Web address http://www2a.cdc.gov/. There is no file attachment, so the email message is small. CDC does not ask for or collect personally identifiable information except for names and email addresses which are discarded when the eCard is sent. There is no cost to send Health-e-Cards, and you may send as many cards as you'd like.
