2002
NC Coastal Geology
Workshop
13-14 November 2002
US Army Corps of Engineers Field Research Facility
Duck, NC
Objectives:
The North Carolina
Coastal Geology workshop will be an annual, focused workshop intended
to publicize, promote, and enhance the coastal geology program.
By bringing together 15-25 scientists, plus other interested persons
such as regulators, engineer, and administrators, it will provide
a forum to enhance the working relationships, leverage project
resources through the development of new cooperatives, and share
scientific results. The workshops include technical presentations,
panel/round table discussions, and (in a separate session) outreach
presentations designed specifically for regulators, policy makers,
and legislators. Interested parties not directly working on the
project are invited to attend to provide contact with the broader
North Carolina coastal community (not just geologists). This will
publicize and explain the work of the project, provide opportunity
for dialog with the public to take place, and additional investigators
to become involved.
