Geographic Information Systems
The Mobile District provides a range of GIS services, including, but not limited to, mapping and surveying, data conversion, Internet mapping, database maintenance, software customization and integration, training, implementation, and other GIS services as required. Deliverables have included Fort Buchanan Facilities GIS, Italian Coastal GIS, Panama Canal Zone Facilities and Land Use GIS, Regional Sediment Management Demonstration program, and web-based mapping of Black-Warrior Tombigbee River Navigation GIS.

JALBTCX / SHOALS
The Joint Airborne Lidar Bathymetry Technical Center of Expertise (JALBTCX) mission is to perform operations, research, and development in airborne lidar bathymetry and complementary technologies to support the coastal mapping and charting requirements of the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the US Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). JALBTCX staff includes engineers, scientists, hydrographers, and technicians from the USACE Mobile District, the Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO), the USACE Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), and NOAA National Geodetic Survey.

Silent Inspector
The Silent Inspector (SI) is an automated dredge contract monitoring system comprised of both hardware and software developed by the Army Corps of Engineers (the Corps). The Corps developed the SI as a low cost, repeatable, impartial system for automated dredge monitoring.

Survey & Mapping Section
The survey and mapping section supports Mobile District, South Atlantic Division, USACE, DOD and other federal agencies through the administration of IDIQ survey contracts. Survey services include cadastral, boundary, topographic, hydrographic, laser scanning, photogrammetric, GIS mapping and airborne topographic and bathymetric lidar.
