KETTERING, OH, Oct. 16, 2008 –
(1) FNS Associate Administrator Eric Steiner presented a
certificate to Louise Easterly, Kettering City Schools Food and Nutrition
Supervisor, for her outstanding efforts to serve healthier school lunches
and help the Kettering schools meet the HealthierUS School Challenge.
Steiner presented seven HUSSC awards (four Silver and three Bronze level) to
the Kettering schools. (2) Power Panther tries to swipe a carton of
milk from a student’s lunch tray.
(3) Chef Steve Cornelius of Sinclair Community College
demonstrates how to make a healthy smoothie.
(4) The Kettering school lunches offer many fresh fruit and
vegetable choices.
(5) Football players from Fairmont High School joined in
physical fitness activities with the third graders of Greenmont Elementary
School.
(6) Eric Steiner and Midwest Deputy Regional Administrator
Neva Terry join students in making spider crackers -- a healthy snack that’s
perfect for Halloween. |
