Caregiver Partnerships and Caregiver Workgroup-EXPIRE

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), along with other organizations, recognizes the vital role that caregivers play in helping people with Medicare make decisions concerning their health care and the Medicare Program. CMS formed a Caregivers Workgroup in 1999, composed of caregiver organizations, beneficiary advocacy groups, providers, insurers, employers, and other organizations with an interest in care giving. This group meets quarterly and discusses how Medicare information can better be communicated to this population and what the members of this group can do to make that happen. This group was also instrumental in guiding CMS to develop products for employees who are caregivers as well as showing their managers that implementing programs for their employees who are caregivers can cost little or nothing.  See the link in the Downloads section below.
