Paved. From Deerfield, Ohio, take Route 224 east to Bonner Road, north on Bonner Road 1/2 mile to launching area. Distance from Deerfield is approximately four miles.

Dutch Harbor Marina
Paved. From Deerfield, Ohio, take 224 east to Bedell Road. Go south on Bedell to Leffingwell Road. Go west on Leffingwell to Hartzell Road and then go north on Hartzell Road approximately one-half mile. Fee charged.

Marko's Landing
Paved. From Deerfield, Ohio, take Route 224 east to Bonner Road. Go north 30 yards, turn right on old 224 roadbed to the launch area. Distance from Deerfield is approximately three miles. Fee charged.

Mill Creek Recreation Area
Paved. From Deerfield, Ohio, take Route 224 east to Bedell Road. go south on Bedell Road to Mill Creek Recreation Area. Distance from Deerfield is approximately five miles. Fee charged.


Conemaugh River Lake (724) 459-8982 (Electric or manually operated boats only)

NOTE: While boating is permitted on the lake, at the present time, Conemaugh has no launching ramps into the lake. Therefore, access is limited to mostly canoes, and cartop boats.

Damsite Recreation Area (no ramp)
Canoe Launch Area. Downstream from the Dam Site Recreation Area at Tunnelview Historic Site.


Crooked Creek Lake (724) 763-3161 (No horsepower limit)

Hancock Bend Area
Paved. From Kittanning, Pennsylvania, take Route 66 south eight miles. Turn left at Crooked Creek Lake entrance sign. Proceed 1/2 mile and turn right into park. Follow the signs one mile to launch. Distance from Kittanning is approximately 9 1/2 miles. From Leechburg, Pennsylvania, go north on Route 66 approximately eight miles to Crooked Creek Lake entrance, turn right, proceed 1/2 mile and turn right into park. Follow the signs one mile to the launch. Fee charged.


East Branch Clarion River Lake (814) 965-2065 (No horsepower limit)

East Branch Recreation/Lake Areas
Paved. From Johnsonburg, Pennsylvania, take 219 north to Wilcox, Pennsylvania. Turn right at blinking traffic light and follow signs to the dam. Distance from Johnsonburg is approximately 13 miles. Fee charged.

Instanter Launch Area (Elk State Park)
Paved. From Johnsonburg, Pennsylvania, take 219 north to Wilcox, Pennsylvania. Turn right at blinking traffic light and proceed to Elk State Park following the signs. Distance from Johnsonburg is approximately 17 miles.


Kinzua Dam/Allegheny Reservoir (814) 726-0661 (No horsepower limit)

Big Bend Access Area
Paved. Suitable mostly for canoes and smaller boats. Just downstream of Kinzua Dam on the Allegheny River.

Elijah Run
Paved. From Kinzua Dam take PA Route 59 east to intersection of Allegheny National Forest Route 262 (Longhouse Drive). Turn right onto Longhouse Drive and proceed for 4 miles to launch area. Distance from Kinzua Dam is approximately 7 miles. Fee charged.

Friends (Quaker Area)
Gravel entrance road with paved ramp. Located just off N.Y. Route 280 approximately 7 miles north of the PA state line. Open Memorial Day through Labor Day. Fee charged.

Highbanks Campground
Paved. From Warren, PA, take Scandia Road north for approximately 25 miles. Campground is on the right. Follow signs to the launch area. Fee charged.

Kiasutha Campground
Paved. From Kinzua Dam take Route 59 east to the intersection of Allegheny National Forest Route 262 (Longhouse Drive). Turn right onto Longhouse Drive and proceed for 9 miles to campground entrance. Follow signs to launch area. Distance from Kinzua Dam is approximately 12 miles. Fee charged.

Kinzua-Wolf Run Marina
Paved. From Kinzua Dam take Route 59 east for approximately 3 miles. Marina is on left. Fee charged.

Onoville Marina
Paved. From Warren, PA, take Scandia Road north for approximately 22 miles. Marina entrance is on right. Fee charged.

Webbs Ferry
Paved. From Warren, PA, take Scandia Road north for approximately 17 miles. Launch area entrance is on the right. Fee charged.

Bush Recreation Area
Paved. From New Alexandria, Pennsylvania, follow Route 981 north for one mile, then bear left on LR 64039 (Bush Road), for two miles to the Bush Campground and Day Use Area. Distance from New Alexandria is approximately three miles. Fee charged.

Inflow Access Area
Earth. Small Craft Only. From New Alexandria, Pennsylvania, follow Route 22 west for one mile, then bear right off the Crabtree or Route 119 south exit. Turn left onto Old William Penn Highway. Distance from New Alexandria is approximately two miles.


Mahoning Creek Lake (814) 257-8811 (10 horsepower limit)

Milton Loop Launch Ramp
Paved. From Dayton, Pennsylvania, follow Route 839 north for 2.2 miles. Turn left at the entrance and follow the paved road for 1/4 mile to the ramp. Distance from Mahoning Dam is approximately 5.5 miles by stream.

Sportsmans Area Launch
Concrete, 16 foot wide. From Route 839, Dayton, Pennsylvania, make no turns at the intersection of 839 and Main Street. Continue through the intersection past the Dayton Bank and across the railroad tracks and passing the Barrett Lumber Yard. Making no turns, proceed approximately 3.5 miles on SR 1023 to the gravel parking area and launch ramp. Distance from the Sportsman's Ramp to Mahoning Dam is approximately one mile downstream.


 

M. J. Kirwan Dam & Reservoir (330) 358-2622 (No horsepower limit)

East Boat Ramp
Four lane, paved ramp with courtesy docks located on Gilbert Road. From Ravenna, Ohio, take Route 5 east to Wayland Road. Turn south to entrance to dam and follow signs. Distance from Ravenna is approximately 12 miles.

West Boat Ramp
Three lane, paved ramp with courtesy docks. From Ravenna, Ohio, take Route 5 east to Rock Springs Road. Turn south and go approximately two miles. Entrance is on left hand side of Rock Springs Road. Distance from Ravenna is approximately eight miles.

Fisherman's Parking Lot
Gravel, small and car top boat launching area. From Ravenna, Ohio, take Route 5 east to Rock Springs Road. turn south and go approximately one mile. fisherman's lot is on the right side of Rock Springs Road. Distance from Ravenna is approximately seven miles. Boats launch into No Wake Zone.

Knapp Road Parking Lot
Gravel, car top boat launching area. From Ravenna, Ohio, take Route 14 south to Knapp Road. Turn east on Knapp Road. Lot is on left past causeway. Distance from Ravenna is approximately five miles. Boats launch into No Wake Zone.

Mosquito Lake State Park (Route 305 Boat Launch)
Paved. From Warren, Ohio, take Route 5 east to Route 305. Turn west to park entrance and follow signs. Distance from Warren is approximately five miles.

Causeway Boat Launch
Paved. From Warren, Ohio, take Route 5 east to Route 46. Turn north to Route 88. Turn west to launching area on left. Distance from Warren is approximately 12 miles.

Causeway Sports Shop Boat Launch

Clark Recreation Area
Paved. From Hermitage, Pennsylvania, go north on Route 18 to Route 258. Turn east (right) on Route 258. Entrance to Clark Recreation Area is on the left just past the intersection. Distance is approximately three miles from Hermitage. Fee charged.

Golden Run Wildlife Area
Paved. From Hermitage, Pennsylvania, go north on Route 18 to Route 258. Turn east (right) onto Route 258. Follow Route 258 approximately two miles. The entrance to the area is on the left. From Hermitage, the distance is approximately five miles.

Hartford Road Access Area
Earth. From Hermitage, Pennsylvania, go north on Route 18 to Route 518. Going west on 518, proceed to Mercer Avenue (first traffic light). Continue through town, cross river. Right onto Tamarack Drive, right (north) onto Route 846. Left at the first road past the Bayview ORV area (Hartford Road). Hartford Road Access is the first right. Distance is approximately five miles from Hermitage.

Kidd’s Mill Covered Bridge (car-top access)
From Hermitage, follow Route 18 north to the Reynolds Industrial Park exit. Turn east (right) onto Kidd's Mill Road, Covered Bridge Park is on the right, just after crossing the Shenango River. Canoe launch available. Distance from Hermitage is approximately 8 miles.

Mahaney Recreation Area
Paved. From Hermitage, Pennsylvania, go north on Route 18 to Route 518. Turn west (right) onto Mercer Avenue at the traffic light. Turn north (right) from Mercer Avenue onto High Street and follow signs. From Hermitage, the distance is approximately three miles. Fee charged.

Marina Launch Ramp
From Hermitage, follow Route 18 north to Route 258. Turn east (right) onto Route 258, entrance to Marina is 1/4 mile on left. Distance from Hermitage is approximately 3 miles. Fee charged.

Parker’s Landing Access Area
(Provides access to 10 HP motor zone)
Paved. Follow the directions to the Hartford Road Access Area. From Hartford Road Access, follow Hartford Road west. At the first intersection, turn north (right) onto Seneca Road. The road will make a sharp curve to the west. At this curve continue straight. Parker's Landing will be on the right. From Hermitage, the distance is approximately 6.5 miles.

Shenango Recreation Area
Paved. From Hermitage, Pennsylvania, go north on Route 18. After crossing the causeway, take the Birchwood Drive Exit. South on Route 18, and turn right (west) onto West Lake Drive. Entrance to Recreation Area is on left. From Hermitage, the distance is approximately six miles. Fee charged.


Stonewall Jackson Lake (304) 269-4588 (No horsepower limit)

Georgetown Access Area
Bituminous. Use exit 96 off of Interstate 79. Go east on Route 30 for 4 miles to Route 36. Take Route 36 east for 1 mile.

Glady Fork Access Area
Paved. Use exit 96 off of Interstate 79. Take Route 30 south for approximately 3 miles. Turn right onto unpaved Route 30/7 and proceed for approximately 1 mile to Glady Fork Access area. This site is for car top boats only and is a floating dock.

Jacksonville Access Area
Paved. Use exit 91 off of Interstate 79. Go south on Route 19 for 3.5 miles to Route 23. follow Route 23 south for 1.5 miles to Route 44. Follow Route 44 south for 3 miles.

Stonewall Jackson State Park
Paved. Use exit 91 off of Interstate 79. Go 3 miles south on Route 19.

Vandalia Bay Access Area
Paved. Use exit 96 off of Interstate 79. Go east on Route 30 for 6 miles.


Tionesta Lake (814) 755-3512 (No horsepower limit)

Nebraska Recreation Area Launch
Paved, two lane. From Tionesta, Pennsylvania, go south on Route 36 seven miles to Newmansville, Pennsylvania, then north about three miles on LR 27008. Distance from Tionesta is approximately 10 miles. PA boat registration is required on all vessels using this launch.

Tionesta Dam Site Launch
Paved, two lane. From Tionesta, Pennsylvania, go south on Route 36, less than one mile to Tionesta Lake entrance and on to spillway area. Distance from Tionesta is approximately two miles. Fee charged.


Tygart Lake (304) 265-1760 (No horsepower limit)

Grafton City Park
Concrete. Access to river below Tygart Dam. For more information about this boat launch, please call the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources at 304-367-2720.

Pleasant Creek Wildlife Management Area
Concrete. From Grafton, West Virginia, go south on Route 119 for 9 miles to WV Route 10, turn left and proceed five miles on paved road to launching ramp. Distance from Grafton is approximately 14 miles.

Tygart Lake State Park
Concrete. From Grafton, West Virginia, follow signs to Tygart Lake State Park. Choice of four single lane ramps.


Woodcock Creek Lake (814) 763-4422 (10 horsepower limit)

Colonel Crawford Park
Paved. From Meadville, Pennsylvania, go north on Route 86 about four miles to Route 198, then east about two miles to Dickson Rd. (Causeway across the lake), turn right and follow sign for Colonel Crawford park.


Youghiogheny River Lake (814) 395-3242 (No horsepower limit)

Jockey Hollow
Paved. From Uniontown, Pennsylvania, go east on Route 40 about 22 miles to launching ramp.

Mill Run
Paved. From Friendsville, Maryland, go about five miles north on Route 53 to Mill Run Campground. Fee charged.

Somerfield North
Paved. From Uniontown, Pennsylvania, go 23 miles east on Route 40, north of bridge on east side of lake. Fee charged.

Somerfield South
Paved. From Uniontown, Pennsylvania, go 23 miles east on Route 40, south of the bridge on the east side of the lake. (For Marina customers only)

Tub Run
Paved. From Uniontown, Pennsylvania, go east on Route 40 about 20 miles to Route 281. Then north about five miles to Tub Run campground. Fee area. For use by campers only.

Spillway Recreation Area
Paved. From Uniontown, Pennsylvania, go east on Route 40 about 20 miles to Route 281, then north about eight miles to dam. Distance from Uniontown is approximately 28 miles. Fee charged.


Monongahela, Allegheny, & Ohio Rivers

There are numerous ramps on the three rivers which are available for public boat launching. A publication titled "The Guide to the Three Rivers" provides detailed information about these and other amenities available to river recreation boaters. However, the ramps are operated by various agencies including the Corps and other federal, state or local agencies. Boaters should be aware that federal, state and local boating laws may apply.
