The Nature Conservancy/Great Lakes, the Ontario Natural Heritage Information Centre and Nature Conservancy/Minnesota will collaborate in building the capacity of local landowners and managers to conserve high priority biodiversity areas in their communities, while considering socioeconomic priorities. Funds will be used to fill biodiversity information gaps in the northwestern Lake Superior landscape; to convene workshops that train local landowners and managers in identifying biodiversity conservation strategies that integrate economic, social and ecological information; and to launch community-based conservation actions for high priority biodiversity sites.
