Representatives of the Mexican scientific and NGO communities participated in Pollution Probe's North American Symposium on Mercury in May 1997. The symposium brought together the critical players from community organizations, government, health care, corporations and the scientific community from across North America to begin the development of a North American Strategy for Mercury Reduction to be integrated into national and international policies, commitments and activities.
