‘Building Strong Families’

As the Commander of the Nashville District,  I would like to personally thank you for your interest and support of the expeditionary mission of the US Army, Corps of Engineers. Since 2001, our Nation has asked a lot from those of us in the service of our constitution to sacrifice our time and effort for a greater cause.  As a Soldier who has deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan, my family and I truly understand all the personal factors that you are considering to be involved in this lifetime experience.  As a family, Cara and I know that you can never replace the time away from your loved ones but we want you to know that your sacrifices are truly appreciated and that you can build a stronger family through the experience.

For those families who have already decided to be a part of this generations greatest challenge by deciding to support a loved one who is going to or is already serving overseas, as you undergo this time apart, I encourage you to learn as much as you can about where your loved one will be serving and what he/she will be doing.  I also encourage you to develop a plan to communicate often with as many different types and methods of communication that you can use. 

To facilitate this communication and provide a local point of contact for family deployment information, Victoria Hooper, our Family Support Network Leader developed this Family Support Network website to provide you up to date information and guidance pertinent to deployment issues.  The purpose of this site is to communicate the latest deployment policies and procedures, provide you with creative ideas to help make your experience more enjoyable, and address any concerns you may have.

            Thank you again for your interest, your sacrifice, and professional dedication to serving our Nation,  my hope is that through this era of challenge that we can continue to Build Strong Families!

Family Support Website for Families of Employees Deployed in Support of The
 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Missions

            Department of the Army, Corps of Engineers, Nashville District is proud to offer this website to the families of our employees deployed in support of the many Corps missions.  The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers supports many expeditionary, humanitarian, and disaster operations, and our employee’s volunteerism contributes greatly to the success of those operations.  We realize that the sacrifices made by our employees are shared with their families.  This website is just one of many tools developed to share information and provide support to you.
