Film Permitting Information

Application Process

1. Fill out the application (fillable form). Send in application, proof of insurance and a check for a non-refundable processing fee of $300.00. Check or money order should be made payable to: FAO Albuquerque District. Mail documents to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque District, ATTN: Real Estate Division, 4101 Jefferson Plaza N.E., Albuquerque, NM 87109. We will call you to schedule a meeting.

2. You can call Marvin Urban (505) 342-3229 to discuss your film project. Please leave a working number if you do not reach us. Mention any plans for unusual activities as soon as possible, i.e., explosives, aircraft or stunts.  We review such requests on a case-by-case basis.  A detailed description/storyboard of the proposed film shoot must be attached to your application.  Some film projects need District engineering, safety and/or environmental review(s).  More complex projects require more review time.

***Fees for long-term film shoots will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

Insurance - That the permitee shall obtain a standard liability insurance policy in the amount of $500,000 per person in any one claim and an aggegate limit of $2,000,000. Property damage will be at least $100,000. The Government shall be named as coinsured. A copy of the bond and insurance policy or a Certificate of Insurance must be furnished at the time the signed permit is issued.

4. Any government assets that may be identifiable in the film as being U.S. Army Corps of Engineers assets, e.g., personnel, equipment, etc., must be approved through Public Affairs at (505) 342-3171.

Production Companies - The Army Corps of Engineers must be included in the credits of motion pictures filmed on Corps Property.
