Agreement between Montana and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
On May 23, 2006 Deputy Surgeon General of Health and Human Services Kenneth Moritsugu and Lieutenant Governor John Bohlinger signed a Planning Resolution detailing HHS' and Montana's shared and independent responsibilities for pandemic planning.
Federal Help for Montana Planning
Montana received $723,275 in phase one funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to use for pandemic planning activities. Montana received additional funds of $1,111,912 from the revised phase two of Health and Human Services’ local and state allocations. A supplemental $437,747 was awarded to help strengthen the state's capacity to respond to a pandemic influenza outbreak. These grants are based on a formula adjusted for population.
