New York's Child Care and Development Fund Quality
Infant/Toddler Earmark:
FY 2006: The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Earmark is $5,266,271.
FY 2004: The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Earmark was $5,532,138.
The funds
are used in the following ways to enhance the New York infant and toddler child care system (additional funds may be used to support these activities):
- To fund start-up activities in an effort to increase infant toddler day care slots.
- Infant/Toddler Initiative, which has established seven (7) regional Infant ToddlerTechnical Assistance Centers across the state to provide technical assistance, resources and training to child care providers serving, or planning to serve, infants and toddlers. The Infant/Toddler Initiative is being implemented through the state funded child care resource and referral agencies.
- Accreditation grants to cover actual accreditation fees and costs that programs incur to bring their programs up to accreditation standards.
- Continued support to providers in obtaining the New York State Infant/Toddler Certificate or the Infant/Toddler CDA through the Educational Incentive Program . Eligibility is normally based on providers' income, however, this resource is available regardless of income when it is being used to obtain infant and toddler credentials.
