Illinois' Child Care and Development Fund Quality Infant/Toddler Earmark:

FY 2006 : The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Earmark is $3,721,983.

The funds are used in the following ways to enhance the Illinois infant and toddler child care system (additional funds may be used to support these activities):

• Infant and Toddler Incentive Program.
• Quality Counts Grants (aka Equipment/Facility Improvement Grants or Quality and Capacity Mini-Grants)
• Healthy Child Care Illinois (child care nurse consultants).
• Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant Pilot Project.

FY 2004: The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Earmark was $3,860,112.

The funds were used in the following ways to enhance the Illinois infant and toddler child care system (additional funds may have been used to support these activities):

• Infant and Toddler Incentive Program
• Quality and Capacity Mini-Grants to enhance quality and/or expand capacity in child care programs by providing funds that can be used for materials, equipment and facility improvements.
• Healthy Child Care Illinois (child care nurse consultants).
• Illinois Trainers Network Program, which offers Creative Curriculum for Infants and Toddlers training.
