Summary of Arizona's Work as Part of the Initiative (2004-2005):
Arizona completed its strategic planning process and worked on:

  • Establishing statewide voluntary developmental screening in child care;
  • Developing infant toddler mental health competencies for child care providers; and
  • Developing professional development standards for child care personnel caring for infants and toddlers.

Arizona's Child Care and Development Fund Quality Infant/Toddler Earmark:

FY 2006: The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Earmark is $2,448,617.

The funds are used in the following ways to enhance the Arizona infant and toddler child care system (additional funds may be used to support these activities):

FY 2004: The Federal CCDF Quality Infant and Toddler Earmark was $2,342,974.
