Detector Development Laboratory
The Detector Development Laboratory (DDL) at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland is a 24,000 square foot, highly advanced semiconductor fabrication facility, which is available for commercial contract for research and development projects. The DDL houses a class 10 cleanroom of 4,000 sq. ft. and 3,700 sq. ft. of class 10,000 process equipment service area.

Goddard's vacuum brazing furnace can be used to join materials that are similar or dissimilar, such as copper to stainless steel, ceramic to metal, or carbon to metal. Joining such materials is useful for various applications, including instrument making. The facility is available for commercial and academic use.
