Preliminary public agenda now online for CEC Council meeting

 
Montreal, 10/05/2006 – The Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) has posted online a preliminary agenda for public events at the Thirteenth Regular Session of the CEC Council. The event, to be held at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium, will take place 28 June 2006 in Washington, DC.

The public is invited to attend the official opening with host EPA Administrator Stephen L. Johnson and his counterparts from Canada and Mexico, a meeting of the CEC’s Joint Public Advisory Committee (JPAC), and a special session with the Council where select members of the public will be invited to present oral statements.

JPAC will begin its regular session meetings on 27 June with a public workshop on renewable energy alternatives at the Hotel Hyatt Dulles <http://dulles.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/index.jsp>.

Details regarding all of these events, including the preliminary public agenda and registration form, are available online at <www.cec.org/council>. Attendance is open to all and free of charge, but not-for-profit organizations and individuals may also apply for financial assistance to cover travel and accommodation. The deadline to register, submit a request for financial assistance, and apply to present an oral statement is 26 May.
