Corps of Engineers & Wal-Mart Partner For Water Safety
PLAINVIEW, Ark., July 22 – The Army Corps of Engineers has partnered with the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Dardanelle to implement a life jacket loaner program that will help improve visitor safety at two swim beaches at Nimrod Lake.

Corps to Remove Some Beaver Dams at Nimrod Lake
PLAINVIEW, Ark., May 5, – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is advising local residents of a project to remove beaver dams on Corps land surrounding Nimrod Lake, which could include land as far west as Briggsville. While the work will include using explosive charges that, under the right conditions, can be heard for some distance, there is no danger to the public. More

Nimrod Dam Update
PLAINVIEW, Ark., April 4 – Nimrod Dam has greatly reduced flood damages along the Fourche LaFave River where repeated rain has occurred. The lake has filled to a level above the spillway pool elevation of 373 feet to a level on Friday afternoon of 376.1 feet. Therefore, in order to prevent a larger discharge through the Nimrod Dam spillway, releases are being initiated today and will be increased on Saturday to crest the lake by Sunday, April 6. More

PLAINVIEW, Ark., March 26 – Because of heavy rains last week that caused higher than normal lake levels, the Army Corps of Engineers is releasing water from Nimrod and Blue Mountain Lakes at a faster than normal rate. More

High Lake Levels Prompt Spillway Releases, Park Closings At Nimrod and Blue Mountain Lakes PLAINVIEW, Ark., March 20 – Heavy rainfall has Nimrod and Blue Mountain Lakes on the rise. Rising waters will likely prompt releases from the spillways of both dams. Also, the rising water has prompted the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to close portions of several parks at both Nimrod and Blue Mountain Lakes. More

PLAINVIEW, Ark., Aug. 16 -- The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers is taking applications through Sept. 3 for a special deer hunt to be held Oct. 15 and 16 at Nimrod Lake. Up to three permits will be issued to hunters whose mobility is permanently or severely impaired by paralysis or amputation. More
