Impaired Hunting Applications Due Aug. 15
RUSSELLVILLE, Ark., Aug. 1 -- The Army Corps of Engineers
is taking applications through Aug. 15 for special 2008 deer and
duck hunts designed to provide accessibility to hunters whose mobility
is permanently or severely impaired by paralysis or amputation.

of Coal Hill Small Game Cooperative Area
RUSSELLVILLE, Ark., Aug. 1 – Littering, illegal dumping
and habitat destruction from off road vehicle traffic are prompting
agencies responsible for the Dardanelle Wildlife Management Area
to construct two gates to control unauthorized traffic just west
of Black Point Island. And taking it a big step further, the agencies
will form the Coal Hill Small Game Cooperative Area. More

Dardanelle
Hydropower Plant Begins Annual Outages
RUSSELLVILLE,
Ark., Aug. 30 -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Dardanelle Hydropower
Plant at Dardanelle Dam will undergo its annual outage for routine
maintenance beginning Sept. 10 and ending Nov. 9.
During this time in the interest of safety, the powerhouse tailrace
area will be subject to closure for one-day intervals. Signs will
be posted in the tailrace area at these times. No weekends will
be affected. For daily closure information, please contact the Russellville
Project Office at 479-968-5008.

To Issue Five Permits For Special Hunt on Dardanelle Lake
RUSSELLVILLE,
Ark., Aug. 6 -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is taking applications
through Sept. 28 for a special deer hunt to be held Nov. 3 and 4
on the Dardanelle Wildlife Management Area at Clarksville. Up to
five permits will be issued to hunters whose mobility is permanently
or severely impaired by paralysis or amputation. More
