GREERS FERRY LAKE, Ark., Dec. 29 – Organic Christmas trees don’t have to go to the trash after Christmas. In fact, all those trees displayed in homes and businesses across the area can be put to good use when you complete your gift giving by donating your tree to the fish in Greers Ferry Lake.

HEBER SPRINGS, Ark., May 12 – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is temporarily restricting boat access into Hurricane Bay to emergency personnel only who are helping clean up after a recent tornado caused significant damage to private boat docks, boats, homes and numerous trees in the area at Greers Ferry Lake. Work Begins May 5 on Highway 25 Bridge Across Greers Ferry Dam
HEBER SPRINGS, Ark., April 28 – The Army Corps of Engineers is reminding interested persons that maintenance work will begin May 5 on the Arkansas Highway 25 Bridge across Greers Ferry Dam. In the interest of safety, this will cause traffic to be restricted to one lane from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day for about 30 days. More

White River System Lake Update
LITTLE ROCK, Ark., April 18 – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers would like to remind everyone that extreme heavy rains throughout March and April have left the upper White River system lakes with almost no capacity for additional flood storage. Beaver, Table Rock, Bull Shoals, Norfork and Greers Ferry Lakes are currently at or near the top of spillway gates. This means any significant additional rainfall will have to be passed directly through those gates, greatly diminishing the project's ability to reduce flood damages. More

Bridge Work Across Highway 25 Across Greers Ferry Dam to Begin in May
HEBER SPRINGS, Ark., April 17 – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will begin routine maintenance work on the Highway 25 Bridge across the Greers Ferry Dam starting May 5. This work will take approximately 30 days to complete. Traffic will be restricted to one lane between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily to ease the work being done and make it safer for the workers. More

High Water Conditions at Greers Ferry Lake
HEBER SPRINGS, Ark., March 31 – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is urging all visitors to Greers Ferry Lake to exercise extreme caution, as high water conditions mean objects normally well above the lake level are now submerged and difficult to see. Also, campers, swimmers and boaters visiting park areas should be aware that certain areas may be closed to the public for their safety and protection.

Officials Dedicate New Tournament Facility
GREERS FERRY LAKE, Ark., Nov. 7 – Federal, state and local officials were on hand Saturday to cut the ribbon and mark the opening of the Devils Fork Tournament-Fish Life Support Center. The new facility provides a place for official tournament weigh-ins, but more importantly, it provides aerated holding tanks and other features that will increase survival rates among fish returned to the lake. Improved Dam Site Park Dedicated at Greers Ferry Lake
GREERS FERRY LAKE, Ark., April 25 – Just in time for the start of a new recreation season, the Army Corps of Engineers, along with 200 visitors, dedicated the new and improved Dam Site Park on Greers Ferry Lake with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday afternoon. The park has just undergone a $2 million renovation and is now better prepared than ever to serve the visiting public. More

Federal Court Upholds Greers Ferry Shoreline Plan
HEBER SPRINGS, Ark., Oct. 8 -- A Sept. 30 ruling by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas upheld the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ 2002 Greers Ferry Lake Shoreline Management Plan and Environmental Impact Statement with only one modification. More
