Harmony Project

FBI Partnership
In Spring 2006, Deputy Assistant Director Tom Harrington of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) Counter Terrorism Division approached the Center in an effort to expand the counterterrorism training and research capacity of the FBI. Soon afterwards, the CTC began an extensive collaborative with the FBI.

Sloan Bioterrorism Program
The CTC's bioterrorism program educates current and future leaders about the unique challenges posed by the threat of bioterrorism. Like all projects at the CTC, we aim look at bioterrorism through a unique lens--applying social science to a problem that has long been considered technical. Because the challenge from biological weapons is inherently interdisciplinary, the CTC works closely with other departments at West Point on this initiative.

Militant Ideology
The CTC’s researchers spent one year mining the most popular books and articles in al-Qaeda’s online library, profiling hundreds of figures in the Jihadi Movement, and cataloging over 11,000 citations. The main conclusions and policy-relevant recommendations are provided in an Executive Report, and a Research Compendium contains summaries of all the texts used in the study as well as biographies of the texts' authors and the figures they cite most.
