These pages will provide various pieces of information about the specific dams, facilities, and resources which are operated, maintained, and supervised by the Corps. If there is information that is missing or you would like to know more about and feel it would be appropriate that we have it here please let us know.

The Dalles Dam Powerhouse with The Dalles and Mt. Hood in background.The Dalles Dam is located 192 miles upstream from the mouth of the Columbia River, two miles east of the city of The Dalles, Oregon. The dam extends 1.5 miles from the Oregon shore to the navigation lock on the Washington shore. Because the boundary between the two states follows the old river channel, The Dalles Dam is almost entirely in the state of Washington. To get to The Dalles Dam take exit 88 from Interstate 84.

John Day Dam looking upstream at open spillways.John Day Dam is located at the head of Lake Celilo, 216 miles upstream from the mouth of the Columbia River. The dam crosses the river near Rufus, Oregon, about 25 miles upstream from The Dalles, just below the mouth of the John Day River. To get to John Day Dam take exit 109 from Interstate 84.

Willow Creek Dam looking upstream at the reservoir with part of Heppner in the foreground.Willow Creek Dam is located just south of the town of Heppner, OR. The dam crosses Willow Creek just south of the town and holds a large resevoir of water used for several purposes including recreation. The purpose of the dam is to help protect the city of Heppner from flooding in the event of severe rainstorms. To get to Willow Creek Dam take exit 137 from Interstate 84, on to Oregon Highway 19, after about 20 miles turn right on to Oregon Highway 74, and travel about 25 miles to Heppner.
