BLM Asks for Oil and Gas Lease Expressions of Interest

The Bureau of Land Management is asking for expressions of interest for federal land parcels in California to be included in an oil and gas lease auction in December.

BLM is currently planning for upcoming competitive oil and gas lease auctions, expressions of interest must be received by June 2 to be considered for inclusion in the December 10 oil and gas lease sale.

BLM is required by law to periodically offer federal land for lease for oil and gas exploration and development.  The oil and gas industry is encouraged to submit an "expression of interest" for federal land parcels in California that have potential for development.  An “expression of interest” is a letter or a form listing the legal description of lands an individual or company is interested in seeing offered for lease.  They should be sent to the BLM California State Office, Attention: Laurie Moore, 2800 Cottage Way, Suite W-1618, Sacramento, Calif. 95825.

Further information regarding oil and gas lease auctions can be obtained from Moore at the BLM California State Office, telephone (916) 978-4377 or Nora DeDios at the BLM Bakersfield Field Office, telephone (661) 391-6129.
