Japan -- Announcement of Additional North Korea Sanctions

The United States supports the Japanese Government’s announcement earlier today that it will impose additional restrictions on the movement of goods and people between Japan and the DPRK in response to the DPRK's reported nuclear test on October 9. The Japanese announcement sends a clear signal to North Korea that if it chooses to continue its programs of weapons of mass destruction and their delivery vehicles, its reckless behavior will only further increase its political and economic isolation.
