It was surprising to learn that in the mid-70’s Mankoff was ABD in his doctoral program in experimental psychology at City University of New York.

But it’s evident that he loves and lives humor and what he does. How he and his staff manage to review nearly 1,000 cartoons submitted to The New Yorker each week is beyond my comprehension.

And kudos to Bob for creating the Cartoon Bank. What a fabulous idea—a clearinghouse for cartoon!
