Jerome Delli Priscoli Featured Speaker at World Affairs Council Event

ALEXANDRIA, VA – December 12, 2008. Jerome Delli Priscoli was a featured speaker at the December 8, 2008 Foreign Policy Series Event "Water Politics and Implications for Security in the Middle East." The event was hosted by The World Affairs Council of Washington, DC.

The expert panel focused on the Middle East where access to dwindling water resources is already a critical policy consideration across the region. Forty percent of the world’s population is already affected by water shortages. Climate change, population growth and the rise in living standards is expected to worsen the situation in coming years.

Mr. Delli Priscoli is a senior advisor at IWR. He participates in major world water forums and maintains routine relationships with senior water ministers worldwide. His lectures and training courses are presented in U.S. Federal agencies as well as a wide range of national and international organizations.

Also speaking at the event were Geoffrey D. Dabelko, Director of the Environmental Change and Security Program at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and Charles A. Lawson, Secretary of the U.S. Section of the International Joint Commission.

The World Affairs Council of Washington DC is a nonprofit organization that supports the education of international affairs. Its Foreign Policy Series has traditionally been a panel discussion of experts from differing fields and/or opposing viewpoints discussing an aspect of U.S. foreign policy.
