The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) measures a students developed verbal and mathematical reasoning abilities. It is designed to predict success in the first year of college and supplements the students secondary school record. SAT scores range from 200800. According to the SAT publisher, scores tend to decline with higher participation rates. The participation rate for DoDDS Pacific schools (Guam, Japan, Korea, and Okinawa) is substantially higher than the nation62 percent vs. 45 percent in 2001. Only 16 states have participation rates of 60 percent or higher; DoDDS Pacific students (Japan, Korea, and Okinawa) results are similar to those states. |
