No waterfowl hunting within 500 feet of developed areas.

Alabama River Lakes

Black Warrior & Tombigbee Lakes Starting 2007 season BW&T permits are available at Class A Parks and Old Lock 1 Park, Tenn-Tom permits (for areas north of Demopolis on the Tombigbee River) available only online at

Demopolis WMA Alabama Dept. of Conservation, Demopolis, AL (contact this office for additional locations) Under 16 must be accompanied by an adult Hunting allowed in areas shown on map furnished by state. Additional restrictions on map.
Carters Lake (5) Georgia Dept. of Natural Resources (for wildlife management area stamp) Under 16 must be accompanied by an adult Hunting allowed only in areas shown on map available at PMO*. See WMA regulations.
Lake Seminole (6) See (6) below Under 16 must be accompanied by an adult

No Canada goose hunting within 1000’ of developed areas. Maps of areas open to hunting, call Georgia DNR at

Archery Only Quota hunt for the Islands on Lake Sidney Lanier.  Information may be obtained in the GA regulations book or by contacting the Lake Lanier PMO* at
770-945-9531.
Okatibbee WMA Mississippi Dept. of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, Collinsville Under 16 must be accompanied by an adult Hunting allowed only in areas shown on map issued with permit. Additional restrictions issued with permit.
Tenn-Tom Waterway Annual hunting permits available online at http://tenntom.sam.usace.army.mil/Wildlife.html Under 16 must be accompanied by an adult Maps and regulations available at self-serve stations.
Mobile-Tensaw Delta WMA Alabama Dept. of Conservation, Spanish Fort, 251-626-5474 (contact this office for additional locations) Under 16 must be accompanied by an adult Hunting allowed in areas shown on map furnished by state. Additional restrictions on map.
Twin Oaks & Mahannah WMAs Self-serve check station on-site Under 16 must be accompanied by an adult Big game by lottery permit only.

*PMO - Project Managers Office

(1)  When hunting on public property administered by the Corps, a state hunting license is required.  Federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.

(2)  At Allatoona Lake, hunting permits are issued beginning August 1 of each year and are limited to the first 400 applicants.  Mail-in requests are accepted from Jan 1 - August 1.  Allatoona Wildlife Management Area is operated by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Game Management Office.

(3)  PMO - Project Management Office.

(4)  At Alabama River Lakes, hunting permits may be obtained in person at the following public recreation areas: Gunter Hill Campground, Six Mile Creek Park, East Bank Park, Chilatchee Creek Park and Isaac Creek Park. Driver’ license number or valid hunting license number required with permit request, whether in person or through the mail.

(5)  Lands open for hunting at Carters Lake are part of the Coosawattee Wildlife Management Area administered by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.  State WMA permit (stamp) required.

(6)  Lands open for hunting at Lake Seminole are part of Apalachee Wildlife Management Area in Florida & the Lake Seminole Public Hunting Area in Georgia, administered by the respective state wildlife agencies.  State WMA permit (stamp) required.

(7)  A large portion of the lands in Georgia are part of a state wildlife management area -  A state management area stamp is required.
