About Us

Our Mission

The Welfare Peer Technical Assistance Network facilitates the sharing of information across State and County lines about promising practices in implementing the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program, and establishes linkages among social welfare agencies serving welfare recipients, low-income families and their partners at the State and County level. The Welfare Peer Technical Assistance Network's Web site acts as a dissemination and communications vehicle, supporting the Peer TA Network in the provision of technical assistance, writing welfare reform issue briefs, and helping welfare agencies learn about innovative programs and effective strategies to successfully move low-income families and TANF recipients from welfare to work and ultimately, self-sufficiency.
