Wounded Warrior Battalion West 

Wounded Warrior Battalion West was officially established on 1 August, at Camp Pendleton, California.

The mission of the Wounded Warrior Battalion West is the same as that of the Wounded Warrior Regiment; to provide and facilitate assistance to wounded/injured/ill Marines, Sailors attached to or in support of Marine units, and their family members, throughout the phases of recovery.

The battalion is responsible for tracking and non-medical case management for all seriously ill or injured Marines west of the Mississippi River to Okinawa, Japan. The battalion also provides oversight and leadership to Marines as they recover.
