Agreement between Washington and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services

On April 25, 2006 HHS Secretary Michael O. Leavitt and Governor Christine O. Gregoire signed a Planning Resolution detailing HHS' and Washington's shared and independent responsibilities for pandemic planning.


Federal Help for Washington Planning

Washington received $1,990,994 in phase one funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to use for pandemic planning activities. Washington received additional funds of $4,612,085 from the revised phase two of Health and Human Services’ local and state allocations. A supplemental $1,503,743 was awarded to help strengthen the state's capacity to respond to a pandemic influenza outbreak. These grants are based on a formula adjusted for population.

State Activities
