Corps to host Marmet information workshop
HUNTINGTON, W.Va.... The Corps of Engineers will conduct an informational workshop regarding the Marmet Lock replacement project Thursday, January 31, at the Corps construction office located at 2203 West DuPont Avenue, Belle, W.Va. The public is invited to stop by anytime between 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
The workshop will provide information about the ongoing construction activities, and Corps representatives will be available to answer questions. As in the past, tours of the construction site will be offered throughout the evening.
The new lock is now operational and the first full-size tow, the MV Lawson W. Hamilton, Jr. officially locked through the new chamber Jan. 22. Visitors will be given the opportunity to see the new lock in operation during the tours.
