Principal's Message:
Hello all,
Welcome to the Andre Lucas Elementary School web site. We hope you will be pleased and excited by what you find here for students. ALES is an elementary school serving students in grades Pre-K through grade 5. We are happy to say that our students consistently score above the national averages on standardized tests.
Our excellent staff and faculty are constantly working toward raising student achievement in a safe and secure environment where every child can receive an education that is second to none. Besides offering standards-based instruction in the core subject areas at each grade level, ALES also offers large group specialists instructing Art, Music, Science/Math Enrichment, and Physical Education. We offer computer technology in every room as well as our two computer labs and our media center. Our “small group specialists” include Counseling, Gifted Education, Special Education, and Read 180. In addition to the excellent classroom instruction, each of our students is given the opportunity to participate in curricular study trips that reinforce and excite the classroom curriculums.
Andre Lucas Elementary School is committed to Excellence. Our current mission statement is: “Excellence in Teaching” “Excellence in Learning”. As we continue that commitment we are currently rewriting our school improvement plan to ensure the best possible educational program for your child. We invite you to visit our school and see the fine job our teachers do here everyday. Please do not hesitate to write with any questions you might have.
"Don’t be a stranger.”

Andre Lucas Elementary was selected as one
of the nation's top 100 Wired Schools as
featured in the May 2001 issue of Family PC magazine.
This honor was a reflection on how we have used our resources to educate our children. Our hardware, software, and the special technology training provided to teachers on a regular basis were key reasons for obtaining this award. Our school incorporates technology as an integral part of the learning process on a daily basis in all classrooms. |
