Gina Arteche, Real Estate Division, was recently appointed manager of Tulsa District's Hispanic Employment Program. She attended her first Corps of Engineers Hispanic Training Workshop and Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Awards Corporation Conference in Houston, Texas, in October.

Arteche had served on the planning committee for the workshop, shadowing Diane Fortelka, Resource Management Chief. The October meeting was the fifth annual workshop for the Corps and the 20th anniversary conference for HENAAC. Lt. Gen. Robert Van Antwerp presented Arteche a Chief of Engineers coin for her work on the planning committee. She was also able to shadow Brig. Gen. John McMahon, commander, South Pacific Division, and was presented the SPD Coin.

According to Arteche, the opportunity to meet so many people was very educational as well as exciting. She hopes to help again next year.
