DDESS Quality Indicator MapThe communication and consistent use of content standards for curriculum planning, instruction, assessment and program improvement leads to more focused ways of ensuring that all students meet or exceed academic standards. Like a road map that shows different ways of getting from one place to another, the Quality Indicator Map identifies major components impacting the implementation of standards-based programs and then describes best practices that support high quality implementation and student achievement. DoDEA’s Quality Indicator Map (QI Map) is a condensed description of the way we would like our four major clusters of Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment and Environment in classrooms and educational programs to look. It reflects our commitment to student achievement and supports our mission, vision, and goals defined in the DoDEA Community Strategic Plan (CSP). The QI Map provides a streamlined and comprehensive approach for identifying best practices across all program areas. The QI Map serves a dual purpose.First, it is a tool for looking at the effectiveness of all our programs by identifying what we call “indicators of quality”. This way we can make decisions about how well programs are working and what changes may be needed in Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment and Environment. Secondly, it serves equally well for individual educators to continually check their progress in fully implementing DoDEA’s vision of a quality education, based on strong standards and high achievement, for all students. Each cluster is made up of several components which are outlined as a continuum arranged in stages from awareness to very innovative. The following links take you to descriptions of each of the QI Map Clusters and their implementation continuum. |
