Summary: Deputy Director for Extramural Research Testifies
at House Veterans Affairs Hearing
On May 16, 2002, the House Veterans Affairs Subcommittees
on Health and
on Oversight and Investigations held a joint hearing to review
VA medical research
programs. The hearing focused on how VA medical research programs
safeguard human
subjects during research, whether VA research facilities have
overcome previously
identified management difficulties, and ways in which the
VA is handling technology
