Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) Measures

The Child Care Bureau (CCB) reports annually on a set of indicators that reflect program performance in the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF), as required by the Government and Performance Results Act of 1993 (P.L. 103-62).  CCB tracks short-term (annual) and long-term progress on each of these goals. Progress on performance goals is reported annually in the President’s Budget Justification to Congress.  

Program Assessment Rating Tool (PART)

In 2004, the Child Care and Development Fund underwent the Program Assessment Rating Tool (PART) review.  Developed and administered by the Office of Management and budget, the PART review identifies a program’s strengths and weaknesses to inform funding and management decisions, and is aimed at making federal programs more effective. Through the PART process, CCDF was rated as Moderately Effective. OMB’s findings and recommendations are summarized here and can be found at:
