Stations

Between the GSN and the ANSS backbone, the ASL oversees the operation of nearly 200 stations.  Historically, the design goals of the two networks were different and this led to differences in station design and instrumentation.  More recently, some aspects of instrumentation have started to converge between the two networks, facilitating standardization of operation and maintenance.
