A primary purpose of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is to provide assistance with engineering and construction of projects throughout the world. Engineering is the planning, designing, construction, and management of physical structures such as machinery, roads, bridges, buildings, as well as environmental habitats. This work ranges from construction of homes to space launch facilities. The Corps provides engineering expertise to our nation's military and other agencies, governments, scientists, and private citizens.
